What goes into a snorkel intake?

They're a little bit ricey and not really good for performance, but lets face it, everyone secretly wants one.

If i wanted one on my imaginary MR2, how much am i looking at spending? what modifications are needed? How much/how difficult is it to move the intercooler?

You mean that?

I do not secretly want one of those. I would probably stab myself in the heart with a bic pen-tube after removing the internal components and cutting off one end at a steep angle.

Anyways I cant see really needing much in the way of mods. Some PVC pipe directing air to the air intake, then sealing it off. I could see it if you were, you know, off-roading in such a way that you'd be crossing rivers and the like.

I'd pay money to see you go mudding in an mr2, though.

No, seriously. Right in the heart. Sawed off bic.
Come near me with one and you'd better be wearing a chest plate, too...

Look into local laws before you consider buying one of these. At this time most states don't allow gay marriage.

Yes!!! to tell you guys the truth I just want to rip them off anyone who has them on. Then kick the owner in the balls just for putting it on in the first place....If he just bought the car, then I'll buy him/her the oem side cover, then rip it of in front of him/her...

I'm gonna have to go with the bic on this one. If you really like it bent over, you can probably just use PVC, or bend some pipe in a worst case scenario.

I agree they don't look good, but none of this explains what goes into putting one on...

if you want a "snorkel" you are a ricer, it makes your car slower by the added drag and does nothing to improve power.

If you can't install it then you should get your iq checked because your probably retarded, its 2 screws that hold the side engine lid piece and a 10mm bolt holding in a ground strap.

I think they just replace the side piece next to the engine lid. They dont really tie into the intake tract. you could always do something custom to make it that way, but why? like como said, snorkles are made for off roading, so as not to suck up water and bend rods.

to put one on I ASSUME (since I have not put one on) it is just the 2 screws and 1 ground bolt.

(man I type too slow)

Well, he meant routing the actual intake filter and pipe from the intake manifold through the snorkel. Not just attaching the body panel. Levi, you should probably get your I.Q. checked, because you're probably retarded.
