i got a used one from a friend that looked like crap . after a repaint by myself i installed it. works like a charm . mine is the adjustable model of the knock off ssqv lol . from what i was told from a couple of people who install and/or sell the knock-offs they are the same bov's as the expensive ones . they are just cheaper cuz of the ''name tag'' . same goes with his one its exactly the same but just doesnt have the HKS on it

Definitely not. To the novice user, they might "look" the same. But the knockoff's are plagued with problems. Stay far far away from them

They are cheaper because they use cheaper parts to build it. They look the same because...that's the whole point of a knock-off. Often times you'll find people with leaking HKS knock offs buying replacement parts off HKS to swap in.

I have a HKS SSQV new version but recirculated it. I was too lazy to try and search for a stock BOV and the HKS was on sale. works good. when I first got it I didn't reciruclate it and it worked better than my old Greddy Type S that came with my car.

Also from what I hear is that its pretty quick in response and doesnt cause as bad idle as others. So far Im loving it.

I have the Synapse BOV, its has a nice unique sound and doesn't stall at all. It's like the stock BPV.

i am working on my friends 93 turbo while he is on deployment and the problem you have with some blow off valves on some cars is they will suck air and the guy who had it before him put HKS on and it is sucking air so I wouldnt recomend this one (unless someone who knows more about these cars then I knows other wise)

As for HKS, it resembles the oem bpv the closest, being a pull type valve which under pressure, pulls the valve shut, and once its off pressure, it releases IIRC.

I just installed the hks ssqv, its NIICE, nice whistle/flutter to it, and turns heads EVERYWHERE, it makes it even better that some people think i drive a mini ferrari

Heres mine with the HKS, its a fat little ******* though, and not 1 problem with it.
