I use the Greddy Type RS bov. I am running 15 p.s.i. and it has a nice aggressive but not too loud sound. Some say the oem bov is better but who knows for sure if that is actually factual. The fastest MR2's don't use the oem bov.

I don't have my bov vented but the following link sounds very similar to mine even though it is vented to the atmosphere. Here's a link: http://www.gscdownloads.com/greddyrsbov.wmv

theres a few reasons that the car should shake like that when a bov is used or a bpv is vented... if the valve doesnt shut fast enough the car will shake then it will stall if it doesnt close in time... thats all if the bov is adjusted wrong... also it could be the cars idle itself and not have anything to do with the bov...

I got it from an eclipse forum. Also, the car is not moving it is just the hose connected to the bov.

probably because the fastest mr2s are running stand alones and converted from an afm.

As for HKS, it resembles the oem bpv the closest, being a pull type valve which under pressure, pulls the valve shut, and once its off pressure, it releases IIRC.

I just installed the hks ssqv, its NIICE, nice whistle/flutter to it, and turns heads EVERYWHERE, it makes it even better that some people think i drive a mini ferrari

Heres mine with the HKS, its a fat little ******* though, and not 1 problem with it.

It makes a HUGE difference and it IS a big deal.

My car came with an aftermarket BOV and when i went back to standard i was like . Car was so much more responsive and had a ton more overall power. Fuel economy went up too ( i think my other one was leaking).

People dont realise how good the stock BOV is untill they try a cheap one. Dont forget that the stock BOV has near identical action to the exensive SSQ unit. It WONT leak and it will vent just as well at 5psi as it will at 20 psi ( ususally if your bov is tight enough so that it doesnt leak, it will blow at 20psi but not on, say, 10 psi)

My v6 swap will be using two of these OEM BOV's.

i dont see how you can say you had more power by going from bov to stock bpv

i changed from my pefectly working hks ssq, to the stocker, and it wasnt a very big difference at all. it was a hair smoother but thats it. i never had any problems w/the ssq. you are right that the stocker works like the ssq, but it doesnt vent, which many ppl want. i am sick and tired of people knocking of buying blow off valves and having an afm. Neither myself or my friends have ever had problems with our properly adjusted blow off valves. if you do, something is wrong. also, gas mileage hasnt changed at all.
