Ever put in a new fuel pump?
Hi, I need to get my 255 LPH Walbro fuel pump in, I was wondering if you need to drop the tank to do so?

pita, i had to do it solo but luckly the engine was already out. Having a friend around really helps but also remember to do it when your nearly out of gas

I did mine 2 weeks ago. Big time PITA. Thankfully I had access to a lift so that really helped. Doing it in a driveway would have sucked major monkey balls. Once it's done, it's done though... as long as that walbro doesn't burn up.

When I put mine in for the turbo setup, I did it in the driveway, engine in, by myself with 2 jacks. I was so sore for all the up and down required to keep an eye on everything. Major PITA~!

do you NEED to drop the tank? No. A sawsall will help if you dont want to. However, I do believe that the toyota service manual would tell you to drop the tank. It's a pain the *******s. I used my head to hold the tank while i tightened the straps down.

btw brinkley, funny sig line. I've been in that same situation.
"Woah, the engines in the back?" "Yup" "Cool! How does that work though? there's no weight on the front wheels. Isn't it terrible in the winter?" "(awkward pause) *forehead smack* yea..." |
