Look at the alternator to the best of my knowledge they are in a different position on Celica's to MR2's

If it has 9 bolts holding the exhaust manifold to the head, I think that also means it's a 93. Also, could you fill us in on what went wrong w/ your old motor? |

Denz i think you missed the question. lol. the motor is an MR2 motor its just there were three different HP rating from the jdm model from my year bracket. and as far as the old motor it runs really rough and has a bad knock and dies shortly after
. new motor going in tomorrow let you guys know how it goes. Still trying to figure out what the new one will have as far as power. only thing for sure is itll have about 20 more hp cuz the lowest jdm one was 222 and the usdm was 200 |

The Throttle body extension is different for 93+. It is not funnel shaped. Also 93+ exhaust manifolds have 9 bolts, all earlier ones have 7. If it's a 94+ JDM it's a gen3 and is very different and will not be a direct swap. 91 and 92 are the most common so I'd expect you probably got an early and it's fine. 93's are the same anyways besides a few minor differences you can swap with your old parts.
Good luck. |

Rebuilt motors are normally crap unless you blueprint or have a really good machine shop you trust plus if it's thrown a rod you need a bunch of parts to fix it anyway. Plus you can part the old motor out to get cash back, done right it will bring the cost back down. |

I lean towards rebuilt. I've seen too many POS "good used" engines.
Good luck |
