e-brake

I am in need of getting a sticker for my car, i had put it off since 2007(lol i know) because i know i wouldn't have passed cause of the exhaust. Well know that i don't have to pass emmissions i am going to try to get one. My question is if i need to fix my e-brake or not?

not sure how it is in mass, but here in virginia they have the same sort of inspection and they post what they look for on the dmv site. i am sure if you checked the mass dmv's site you would find it.

yea i checked and they said that they do check the parking brake. Now it kind of works, like if i hold up the e-brake it goes way back and i can feel the resistance but it won't stop the wheels from moving. Do you adjust the cable at the lever??

If you feel resistance in the handle but the brakes aren't clamping, it's likely your side cables corroded and seized. The easiest way to fix that is to buy new ones. If you can use a jack and sockets, you can get under the car and remove the plastic underbody panel directly under the seats. After you do that, the adjustment process will be very clear.
