smell petrol when on throttle hard

Hi all,

GEN 3 3SGTE;

this maybe linked to my idle problem, when Im hard on the throttle I can smell petrol in the cabin, I cant see any leaks..I have ordered a spare tps as I was not happy with the continuity on one of the tests, other than that the car pulls hard with no hesitatian

well a stock 3s does run pretty rich that might be what you are smelling.

Get it checked thorughly. As long as theres no leaks you have nothing to worry about, I always smell fuel when driving my car if I didn't then I'd be worried lol

we had the same problem with my little bros mr2. it turns out that there are two hose that are connected to the gas tank. after the engine was swapped out for another gen 2, those two hoses weren't hooked up. these hoses are behind the heat shield. the heat shield that is in front of the turbo.
