1991 MR2 Turbo Prices

What is the value of this car in today's market? Unemployment is high and the economy is bad so I want a good deal if I purchase the car.

It was purchased new in Florida and has spent its life in Tennessee so rust is not an issue but the car has 150,000 miles and the present owner tells me it will need a new turbo soon. The car is totally stock with no modifications.

Move this thread if I have put it in the wrong section.

Govt taxes a 91 turbo mr2 at like 1800. Id say anywhere from 2.5-3.5k for that. Id lowball a lil beacuse replacing a turbo is pricy.

Agreed. ^

And don't forget to check other major components. A failing turbo usually means other big ticket items are on the verge too.

How much are they asking for? I would do a compression and leakdown test. Let us know the results and we'll be able to give you a closer price range to work within.

i think 3800-4000 would be a good price for that car.

How does it drive and does it boost fine?

Test Drive

The car is a 2.5 hour drive from my home so I have not been to see the car. I think I will pass on this MR2 because I don't think the owner will lower his price much below $4,600.
