Which one would you go for and what can you expect out of each?

I'd say go with a Gen3 + S252 or a Gen2 + S250.

The S252/Gen3 combo will net you around 320-350whp right out of the box. And the S250/Gen2 combo would get you to around 270-300whp. And both with insanely quick spool.

I already have my gt2871r kit i'm just not sure if a should spend extra cash to go stand alone on a gen 2 or simply swap in a gen 3.

well it would be more expensinve to buy a gen3, would it not?

In my eyes, the stand alone ems would be the best way to go, because if you change anything in the future, you can always re-tune the ems and get every last hp out of it!

That's really a tough call. If it were me, I would go with the Gen 3 then start saving for a standalone.

It really depends on your power goals. If you're shooting for anything up to around 290whp I'd say stick with your Gen2 and just bolt the turbo on and go have fun.

If your power goals are anywhere above that the Gen3 is really the way to go.

Whats your budget, power goals, etc..?

Id keep the stock 440's, run one of those ebay .50trim kits, and a methanol injection kit and do 11's for under $1500 in mods.

Jose Rosario has a similar setup and did 11.4@120mph.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Power FC is only made for the Gen3...

Just reduce your power goal to 280whp and stick with 100% stock gen2 and a turbo kit. You'll be much happier with the outcome.

I'd de happy with 280 whp for sure!

But why not upgrade the engine management? It would be easier to extract a bit more hp.

Because with the cost of the Powerfc, the wiring harness, sensors, and a proper tune + dyno time. That cost gets very high, very quick.
