PRECISION 5857 DBB BILLET TURBO SETUP ON MY GEN3
I've been meaning to post up some information on my new turbo setup for you gen3 guys. The specs on it are as follows. Mine is the .63 AR exhaust housing t3 with vband & is the 3" housing for the compressor side. One of the great things about this turbo is that it doesn't require the use of water lines. I know many guys are using the 6262 on their mr2's but there wasn't anyone that I was aware of running the 5857. I went with a custom stainless tubular manifold for my setup. Overall impressions are as follows please keep in mind I am at 5000ft meaning spool is a bit slower and the turbo has to work harder to make the same boost level. It also runs out of efficiency sooner. I am running 15psi and I am at full boost by 4200 rpm. I have a closer to stock gen3 swapped car as well and driveability is almost the same as this is. I am very finnicky about laggy turbo's and I would by no means call this laggy. I also have a 4" tb on my setup as well which will definitely slow spool to say the least. I'm running a 2.0 bottom end with 9:1 cp pistons, a built head with 1mm os valves and an Authentic JUN gen3 IM. Anyways here are some pics!
