Intercooler fan

I can't find the switch that turns on my intercooler fan. Where is it located and what does it look like? Any pictures would help as well. Thanks in advance!

Yeah, as Stewart said, its mounted on the engine lid towards the front of it (right behind the back glass basically.)

If I am remembering correctly and have the right person, from a post in a different thread, you problem is you fan is not turning on at all, right?

If so, the I can tell you now, don't worry about the sensor (switch) as it is not your problem (or at least, 99.9% chance its not)... the way the fan control system is set up, if the switch goes bad, the fan will come on all the time with the key on. Its a fail-safe feature, basically the sensor is to turn the fan off, not turn it on.

If the fan is not turning on, the its on of 4 possible items, the VENT fuse, the relay for the fan, the fan motor itself of the controller. Most like either the fuse, relay or motor as I think (but don't remember for sure) the controllers default setup is closed circuit on the fan input circuit thus being a fail-safe in itself in that if it fails, the fan is on automatically with the key on. Again though I don't remember for sure though as it was years ago that I back traced and worked out the functioning sequence of the controller, I might be wrong on the controller aspect thought.

Re: Intercooler fan

Thanks! I don't have the switch on the engine lid. It didn't come with the car. I guess I will have to get the switch. I want to put the dual 11in fans on the engine lid and do an A2W set up eventually.

My Google Map

Get a thermistor switch and a normally closed relay. An hours wiring will fix all. Put one terminal of the thermistor switch to earth and the other to a switching terminal of the relay and put power (from a good source) to the other pins of the relay excepting one which goes to the fan to power it up. Earth the correct side of your intercooler fan so it goes the right way. Done.
