Hello fellow Deuce fanatics. As some may already know, we are planning on having a Meet in Wisconsin Dells this August. Things are still in the planning stages, and to go any farther, we need a formal count on who would attend. After having an actual count of participants we will put together the venue and post accordingly.
It will be a two day event, the second day is optional. Lodging is up to you, whether you would like to camp or stay at a motel. There will be at least one cruise, the exact route has yet to be chosen. Any one who is familiar with the area is welcome to assist in the planning of the route. There are many scenic areas and photo ops. are plenty. If any businesses are interested, sponsors are welcome. There will be an entry fee that will include a t shirt and other odds and ends. Actual price has yet to be determined. But to go farther with this we, again, need a formal count of folks that will attend. To sign up for this, simply reply to this thread and state your attentions. If you are not familiar with the Dells and what it is all about go to the following web site: Wisconsin Dells (WI): Official Website of the Visitor & Convention Bureau Thank you and We hope to have a large turn out. ![]() Jhauschild "john hauschild" |

So John it looks like a buddy of mine is gonna ride along with me and take part in this pride ride so thats one more person. I dont know if you were thinking of each person buying tshirts and getting them before we all meet up or if we were just going to hand them out there. Also we need to establish an actual place/ address at the Dells so we know where to all meet up.

As soon as we have a grasp on how many to actually expect, I will be in contact with Helen Wick. She is the Group Marketing Manager for the Wisconsin Dells Visitor & Convention Bureau. She will assist us as soon as I can give her some more info, for instance attendance count. I would hate to get large area reserved and end with only a hand full of folks wanting to go. The following is a copy of my last reply from Helen. It's also posted on the other related thread.
Hi John: Thank you for considering Wisconsin Dells for your event! Our web site has a lot of helpful information and I can mail you a Wisconsin Dells Meeting Planning Kit. Please send me your mailing address. meetinthedells.com Information that would allow me to assist you would be the following: What dates are you looking at to have this event or are you open to any weekend in August? Are you looking for this August 2008 or next year? How many owners are you expecting? Do you want a venue that has a meeting room? Do you need a venue with a large parking lot? What price range are your attendees accustom to spending on sleeping rooms? This information will help me guide you in the direction your group wants to go. I look forward to hearing back from you! the fiero guys usually do their meet at chula vista. don't know if you wnat to be different or follow their lead, since they typically have folks from around the country..
i'd say we should hit up big chief.. or whatever it's called now.. the gokart place. i worked there for summer and know a few tricks with the karts to make em go faster i'm definitely down though. as long as i get at least a month's notice of the dates, i can make sure i'll have off work. |

I am interested as well, but my August is already going to be pretty busy, so once the date is set I will have a better idea if i could make it.

what do you think if my mr2 isn't done in time? I could bring my civic, or ride my motorcycle...It's up to you whether you make it an mr2 only meet or let me get away with not bringing it; only if it's not done!!!

![]() Ok not really..... they wouldn't answer me, dem' bastards. I don't have a problem with you bringing your Civic But, it is also up to the other folks going. Just put a sign in the back window saying your deuce is at home under the knife or something.I like the quick climb in the count, reassuring. Puts a pep in my step. How does the first weekend in August sound? Other wise the third weekend.? Thank you Gairloch for keeping a running list. Ever bit of help, helps........keep that number climben' folks. |

first weekend would work fine. second weekend in august is completely out for me. that's the wife's birthday. MAYBE if i could convince her it's a vacation, it would work, but not likely.

I think everyone should be good for getting their cars done in time...we have at least 3 months of good weather before august...thats a pretty good amount of time to fit in work and the MR2 into the schedule

i still have to find a shop that will fix my frame rail, plus do it for a fairly cheap price, then i need new suspension all around, and new tires...... my body work can wait.
