    FS: 85 Hardtop Red 5Spd

I would prefer to do this locally.

I hate to put it up on the market, but I just don't have the space anymore for this thing. I plan to get another one later down the road. But for now, I need to sell this one.

It has aftermarket 14" rims with decent tires plus the full set of toyota triangles with choppy winter tires. I have Tokico HP shocks brand new in the box for all 4 corners. It also has 88 taillights and an 87 steering wheel. It didn't have a spoiler on it but I did get a trunk with a spoiler on it that I installed (factory 86 spoiler). I still have the original wingless trunklid for it that I will throw in with it.

If you saw the pics from the car show in St. Cloud or were there you know what it looks like. It does have some rust on the rear quarters but the entire underbody is fully intact with no rust. I was very surprised when I pulled the carpeting out last year to find no rust in the floorboards. I can post some pics up later or email them if you want.

My price is $750 or bo.

This is sad to hear Matchbx, you seemed to enjoy working on this car quite a bit when I talked to you at the car show. I also wish I could have seen it in a race.

I love working on it. It's just that life has dictated that I need my priorities in different areas right now. Not a big deal. I will have another one someday soon.

Well, I suppose I should update this since I am needing to sell this thing real quick.

For most that don't know, our apartment building had a fire at the beginning of June. So since then we have been bouncing from my parents house to my wife's parents house. So bottom line is, I need to find someone to buy this car since I am running out of places to park it.

Since the last updates on the car:

I have installed the Tokicos and I still have the full set of 87+ Tokico HP shocks (brand new in the box). The engine has developed an oil leak somewhere. I have not had any time to work on it or anywhere to work on it. I have greatly reduced the asking price. Looking for $750 or best offer. Checked the compression numbers and it goes 185-180-175-185. So the engine is still going very strong.

This would make a very good candidate for a Chump Car as well.

If we don't find a house to buy soon, I'm afraid I will have to junk it. And it has way too much life left in it to do that. There has to be someone out there looking for a good project car to play with. Let me know if you have any questions or want to look at it. It's parked in Inver Grove Hts. right now. We are staying in Victoria right now and will probably be buying a house out here somewhere. So if we find a place out here, the car will be brought out here. But it will still be for sale regardless.

This thing is still for sale.

I need it gone asap. I am posting it on craigslist as well. I thought I was going to try to build a chumpcar with it, but I have no time and even less money to do so right now.

Somebody please buy this from me. It is located in Rockford, MN now.

I want to sell this locally. I will also be posting it on craigslist.

    Here's the low-down:

    85 MR2 Red Hardtop 5Spd.

    Good-

Brand new Tokico HP shocks (non-adjustables) on all 4 corners
    Aftermarket rims with decent tires
    Solid (non-rusty) underbody
    87-89 taillights
    87-89 side air-dam
    87 steering wheel
Engine has 100,000 miles on it. Compression is 185-180-175-185
New fuel pump (only about 3500 miles with it in there)
Newer exhaust (stock, about 5000 miles on it)

    Bad-

    Rust in the rear corners
Body and tranny have 199,000 miles on them but the tranny does not pop-out in 5th gear
Engine uses some oil and leaks some oil (enough to make it not driveable too far) I think it might just be as simple as cam seals and valve stem seals.

I was thinking about turning this into a ChumpCar, but I just don't see me having the time or money to do it right now with having a 10 month old and just buying a new house. I used it as a rallycross car for 2 seasons and it never let me down.

Spares included with the car (if you want them)-

    Front left fender
    Front and rear bumpers
    Wingless rear trunk lid
    Leather wrapped 87-89 steering wheel
    85-86 side air-dam
Interior B-pillar speaker covers and speakers
    Starter
Full set of triangle rims with winter tires on them
2 steel 13" rims with winter tires
And a few other items I can't remember off the top of my head.
