K so what does everyone think about a meet in September???? I'm not a very good organizer/event planner/know what to do kind of guy. I think a nice BBQ, drive around, photoshoot would be fun. I'll talk to my sister in-law and she if she'd be willing to snap some pics for us. Let me know what you all think and where your from so we can try to think of a good place for us all to meet.

for me, i don't really need the bbq. let's just meet at one place, and set a place for a destination like red wing or duluth, avoiding interstate highway so we can test the car handling. then, once reached to destination, we can go anywhere we want individually(have lunch etc.), and then set a time and place to gather before driving back. just my newbie 0.02

I vote BBQ at the park in golden valley like we used to. I think it's meadowbrook park by the golf course off 55 and 169? That was a nice place to hang out. I'm up for a meet too, but it will have to be in the next 10 weeks or so before I switch to working all nights/weekends.

I think the only issue with BBQ is how much extra food everyone brings. Maybe we should get a menu going, like who wants how many burgers/dogs/brats, how many drinks each person will want, etc and then divide that up so there's no waste..

^ that doesnt sound like a half bad idea. I'd be down for that! The driving to duluth idea would be fun a hell, but my suspension is getting bad and i wouldnt want to drive that far the way it is. great intup though. maybe we could try and plan a Duluth drive next year????

    my mr2 broke yesterday ((
not sure what went wrong. i was on 280-S going to I-94 east. on the highway, the i was driving at the speed of ~50mph on 4th gear, then i dropped the gear to 3rd to pass a car and step on the gas. then, all of sudden the engine died. i pulled over and tried to start it, but it just turned and couldn't start. when i tried to start it, it bobbed(like a small explosion), kinda like flooded engine. i had to call the tow truck to tow it back to my apt. i checked the engine, the oil level is as before, and the color looks healthy. when the engine cooled off, i checked the coolant to see if it's a BHG, but coolant looks healthy too. i suspected the timing belt snapped. but then i opened the upper timing belt cover, the timing belt was snug and tight. i seriously do not know what's going on. should i start a new thread so people can help me out? or any of you guys have experienced this before?

it's just the stupid rotor came out of the distributor shaft. I really thought it was something more serious that i checked the compressions, timing belt etc. i changed the distributor cap and the rotor. i hope it won't happen again.
Are you interested in doing some driving too?

Well me being from the west metro I normally take 694 to 35 and take that all the way to duluth. It's only about a 2 and a half hour drive. I'm not sure of any other routes to get there.

i joined one group once. we started from stillwater. from there, we went through winding road avoiding freeways all the way to duluth. it was a blast. i was thinking to do the same on sunday.

Well I've been f**kin around with my gps when I'm sposed to be working. I found out I can avoid highways, but it still has routes that go on county roads. That's the best I can come up with as far as that goes.
