Anyone local wanting to buy a 20v swap? I'm trying to buy a 91 widebody.
Did anyone get any pics of that guy Derick's baby blue mk1? I'm trying to get some ideas from his car. |

I didn't get a chance to look at your car other than from a few 10 feet away or so.. Is it in good shape? I mean... is it good enough to put some money into it? Mine was in bad shape at one time.. the owner before the last owner trashed it.. but it has no rust at all.. was a Florida car for most of it's life. The previous owner had it repainted, redid the seats, put the 94+ tails on, new shift knob, and front clear lenses, TRD springs, and Illumina struts, TRD front strut tower bar. I bought it, and cleaned all the wax out of the corners,etc..there is still more work to do believe it or not.. I put on solid front molding to replace the front side markers. Got those from Japan. Then, I sprayed my floormats black b/c even the new ones you could still get were gray. I just put on new window trim, redid the wiper cowl piece, glovebox, new wheels (very expensive with tires), and body kit (not too expensive), paint was only $425 total to paint all 4 pieces (well, I guess that is little expensive), and recently new fog lights b/c I had to drill out and destroy the old ratty ones. I put in an alpine CD player that my brothers girlfriend gave to me for my birthday, and a Gentex rear view mirror with homelink, compass, and autodimming to modernize the interior a bit more along with gauge rings from the UK, and LED's in the cluster from Superbrightleds.com. Also bought the rear TRD strut tower bar just before the meet. Oh, an I painted all the wheel well flat black with just rustoleum or some paint in a can. Made a big differene since instead of looking at a dirty crusty dirt brown the wheel wells, it looks new. I knew my engine had multiple oil leaks, but when I found out that one was coming from the head, and dripping on my axles, and spraying out the back of the car, I decided enough was enough, and bought a 98 MR2 rear clip. That, and the wheels were my two biggest expenses. I still plan on putting LED in all my interior lights. If you have any questions.. just ask.. I'll try and help out. Maybe I'll bring my MK1 next year.. not sure.. have a long time to decide. I have wanted to go to that meet for years, and years with my MK1.. but never did b/c I was always working on it. Todd |

the previous owner didnt care for the car at all and it showed on the body, interior and mechanically.
the way that you saw it was after years of restoring and lots and lots of my time and money ![]() my car is mint right now, not one single complaint not one problem however... i have a problem now that ive seen yours, I WANT RIMS!! haha and your off set ![]() that is all , over all my car is what i consider new, i just really like all of the features you have,lol... the tan interior, turbo and the rims... they look sick i love themthis just means time to plan and save up! ![]() |

Janice, the red rhd car with the fist or whatever on the hood looked perfect with the rim/tire combo. There were some with big wheels that looked good but then I saw the way his sit and I felt his looked perfect. I think he said the way it looked was because they were 16's and they didn't look too big. I don't have any good ones of that car. I got 800 pics from this trip and 780 are of gas stations or the street lines. That friend is not coming as my passenger again.

that's Steve's MR2 (the black RHD with the red fist on the hood), or sinsmr2 from the 'other' board. I went out with him, and those two crazy Boston guys (Friday, Sat, Sunday night driving, and just hanging out, cool car.. ) I do agree the car sat nice. |

Keep in mind.. if you get rims.. get lighter weight ones since you have a 5sfe. My second choice was Bronze Advan RG's.. With a 5sfe, I would probably do 16 front/17 back.. I don't think 16/16 even looks that bad on a MK2 with stock body after seeing it (looks good actually).. well depends on the rim choice, and offset/tire sizes. You can have nice rims that look like crap with bad offsets, and tire sizes. The leatherseats.com new are $600.. sometimes you can find a pair used, or never installed for half that though, like on here fairly recently. Luckily my car was at least partially restored when I bought it. |
