well I started tearing the car down today at jasons house. their is some rust in the floor boards but I figure that can easily be cut out and replaced. I took out the wireing mess that someone hacked to shit and started removingthe sound deadning material. here are some pictures

Workshop group, please check in with me. Call me on my cell.....we need to do something for Lee and Leng.
I didnt know their dad as well as I'd have liked. Met him a lot and talked to him quite a bit about car stuff. Was a very amiable kinda guy, someone you could chat and laugh with. I'm very sorry to see him go when he still had so much in life to give and share. I believe that he is in a better place, and I hope that the drunk driver who took him from his family gets the full brunt of the law. -Zai |

Hey mk1matt, from what you are saying. It cranks but doesnt start? or just doesnt crank at all? You gonna need to be more specific.
You didnt make it to the dyno day Shane, but you didnt miss much, haha. For some reason the dyno tech was in a rush to push everyone through, left a lot of people dissappointed. Of course I wasnt in charge so that pretty much left everyone on their own. I think next time I'll have to step up so we can do some real tuning instead of just making quick pulls. I think we should have a quick meeting this saturday if everyone can make it. Leng's family is copeing as best they can. I'll prob be helping them out where I can as the preperations are under way for the funeral. I'd like to start a pool for a donation to the family. I was also tossing the idea around of dedicating the " Beat the Heat " car in memory of their dad. Anyhow, input appreciated. |

oh yeah i emailed some auto parts places in alabama dealing with a lot of "flood damaged cars" loads and loads of 1mz 5vz 3vz 1gr and all the v6 parts you could wish for. I dont know how electronics hold up but hell 3vz for 200 bucks!

engine used to crank but dosent know. I jumped the starter and got it to crank but the fuel pump isnt turnging on. the pump resistor reads at .9-1 ohms instead of .73 so I think I need to replace it. I tryed using the diagnostics port to jump the pump and it still didnt turn on.
I dont know what the deal is with the starter. it didnt work the first time then it just started working and now it dosent work, now that I have swaped the motor. |

well I go tmy Fuel pressure regulator the other day, and i installed it... not sure if I have it in right. Ofcourse it came without any instructions.
What would cause the return line to surge or pulsate? I'm needing to goto the U-pull-it yard soon... need to get some GM parts for the front end and some hoses for the Rad's need lots of 1 1/4 hose with different bends. I'll have to wait till after next week end. Zai... give me a call and let me know what you have planed for the Family. |

Well I know it's way too soon to think about it but I was thinking of painting the new car in some sort of color like this http://www.innate.com/Paint/Chrome/Chrome.htm and basically doing all the chrome pieces powercoated chrome black or black.....what do you guys think???
other than that I have to pick up a compressor and sandblast the interior of the car before anything else. |

Mk1matt: I'll have to check the wiring diagrams and my notes, it's been awhile since we did an NA to Turbo. Guess we're spending too much time working out the v-6 thing instead, hehe.
James: Turbo parts get claimed pretty quick around here. I guess checking the usual sources if you are looking for a used one. Otherwise there are plenty of sources for new calipers. SethW: Why would you powder coat chrome? |

just to do something differnt I figure that if the whole car is "chrome" then their is no need for the usual chrome....basically a reversepaint job.
