I think sunday would be best. It's a relatively short drive for a fishing expedition. Vince was talking going up with the trailer earlier if anyone wanted to go spend the night.

PIR is a good Idea...
So anyways, I know you guys have seen my car up on craigslist... I am currently having home issues that are kinda suggesting that having a place to live is a much better Idea. So as far as the car, it's just testing waters... I am going to stay firm on my asking and not a penny less. If I don't get what I want for it, then it will be kept and into the savings pot my hands go... |

If you guys want something funny to read:
http://www.mr2.com/forums/mk-2-v6/To...d-56k-run.html Just me and J giving each other crap, lol. Good guy, just lacks the tools and time that we do. Seth, you need to order a clutch. Your Tilton is really a no go at this point. Unless you want to have a custom flywheel made and only drive it at the track. I'll order up the necessary gaskets next week after we go over the new engine this weekend. I'll bring the tools so you and leng can swap the lsd. I'll replace your torn cv boot this weekend. Will discuss other details with you when I see you. So it's looking like fishing the 28th of June. Plan ahead, get your fishing license, your tackle, and special bait! If we can get organized we should carpool from Leng's house. |

Back in Business
Hey guys. I finished schools, finals were a pain in the arse but I passed.
I plan on spending some time at the shop helping other people with project so let me know if need a hand. Zai- I was setting the timing on the MK1 today and the idle kept loaping in almost prefect timing. Any ideas? I would with plugs or wires since they are used ones from the shop. It will be on the road Wed next week for sure. |

Good job Conrad, I was wondering how far you've gotten. If the timing light flashes erratically then I would think maybe the wires, cap, rotor or plugs. If the timing light is a steady even flash but the idle hunts then I would think a small vacuum leak. A cheap vacuum gauge hooked into the manifold should register 18-22 inhg if it is lower then suspect an intake leak.

timing by ear
I was actually doing a "by ear timing" set. When I pulled the trottle to any position, it would lope then rev, then lope, so on.
I need to buy a friggin timing light. Thanks for the advice Zia. Loved the banter between you and J, funny stuff. |

Yeah Seth, I would be happy to beadblast your valve cover. Just have it cleaned and masked what you don't want beadblasted and I will do it this week.
Hey I inflatted my raft and it has no leaks, so I am ready for fishing. |

I'm gonna buy more lure, bobbers, and sinkers this week when I go get my license. I caught more trees and logs and sunken branches than fish last time. I'm gonna get an assortment of bait for testing purposes. If all else fails I may rig one of the spare airbags with a capacitor and have Eric row it out into the lake......lol.
