Just wondering if any of you guys had a parts two or know somewhere I could get a steering rack? I need to get one soon so that I can drive to seattle for the HIN show and by the looks of it im not gonna find one for a while.
Also will the manual steering rack work in a car that has power steering, and dose it matter what year it is from? |

Dont have a steering rack, dont know of anyone local that has one, you should check the parts for sale section. It should fit where a power rack fits though.

I'm going to assume you have a MKII, despite your board name ![]() Try www.car-part.com for the rack. The manual rack isn't exactly plug and play, but can be made to work, and is much more rewarding to drive than the EHPS. Here is a write-up I did while converting Deuce Coupe to manual steering: http://www.koracing.net/technical/manualrack.html HTH, Ken |

wow.....1000 posts on our thread......damned i missed it, haha.
Anyhow, pretty busy here at the shop, still waiting for Dilly to get back so we can start organising for the "Beat the Heat" project. Anyone seen Paul lately? Steve needs parts and he keeps mentioning " that mr2 " in the corner, LOL. Remember peeps, dyno day the 26th, just like last time. I got two 9 in. fans for my radiator. Of course now i need to get a new radiator and flush my coolling system. I may go to storage saturday morning if anyone is interested. |

we should be, depending on how I feel I may be down their this weekend. I didnt get a day off last week so wasnt really motivated to come on down. anyways thats about it, their is a new detail guy that does killer work about 3 buildings down from zai. He mentioned that he's done a few riddlier cars as well as some of chip fooses cars....needless to say he good. Mines in desperate need of some TLC so if any of you are interested you can see the results on mine in a few days.
Other than that nothing really too new on the shop front. |

I will be at the formula D event also. on of my friends from work will have his silvia in there. garage 112 is borrowing it cuz their ae86 is stuck in cali or something. so root for the white silvia with the carbon hood!
I was also up all night putting in my used steering rack, that I got just around the corner form the shop, and my car still pulls across the road! I took it in to Toyota to have them tell me why it is doing this and they said steering rack and wheel barrings. but wheel barrings seem ok and obviously it wasn't the steering rack! |

Yeps, now I have the right sized fans they will be mounted underneath the radiator. Then i will " finally " be able to put my test hood on. If i didnt have so much work to do, I'd day trip it for the event, but gotta get things done and outta the shop.
Did you check yr alignment? |

Hey, Gary is puttin up his 91 NA for sale. He just recently bought a turbo. It's in relatively good shape and he's done a lot of maintenance on it. He wanted me to ask the guys here first if anyone was interested before he posted it up on craigslist.

Hey tech heads quick question.... Ohh yea I just got back to Oregon so I might be by... I am busy finishing a few things up so I might be crunched for time...
my mr2 is down for the count alternator crapped out. I have been meaning to get it fixed but have not had the time and dealership has me in a demo so I was not to worried but I stop work soon so back to the mr2 as a Daily. According to the BGB there is no mention to drop the cross-sub frame to replace the alternator. When I was under the car there seemed to be no angle at it without dropping it however. Should I just hire a person with tiny hands to replace the alternator or what? Damn the BGB!!!!!!!! Might count me in for the dyno if I get it running and some bugs taken care of. I will try to swing by I will be the guy not driving an mr2. Haha. Craig Last edited by MR2Bliss; 08-19-2006 at 04:24 AM.. Reason: spelling |
