You can get the alternator out without dropping the subframe. It's tricky, but can be done. Don't replace it with a rebuilt alternator from a local auto parts store, unless you want to get very good at r&r of the alternator. In my experience, the only ones that last are the ones that Toyota has rebuilt by Denso.

The only thing the lifetime warranty on the auto parts store alternators guarantees, is that you will spend your lifetime swapping alternators on and off of your MR2.

I dont think I'm gonna take my car up to the dyno since I havent done anything with it since medford. I need to get a new radiator and install my new fans. Steve is gonna talk to someone he know's about making me a smaller pulley for my SC. I'm going to start working out measurements for my rear suspension design until then. I'll prob just be helping out at the dyno since I was asked to go.

Far as Gary's car goes. It's a very clean 91 NA. In the last two months he's done: compelete tune-up, injectors rebuilt, transmission rebuilt, new clutch, new tires, serviced all fluids. From what i remember , it's all stock, red. I think he is asking around $5K for it , just because he spent so much money on it.

hey I found this for sale today in seattle, it's kind of rough but something like this is my plan for a future project car http://seattle.craigslist.org/est/car/196691940.html I guess http://datsport.com/menu.html does some SR and KA crossmembers and the like for the car but I'm almost thinking a 20v 4age would be fun to do with a GTS tranny and diff. anyways it's a future project but I think that would be a fun car to do, best of all no emissions BS.

Hey guys. I decided I'm going take my block to Tabor Machining in Vacouver. With around 5k invested in this build, I want to make sure it is done right. I don't have enough experience to feel comfortable putting that much money on the line.

Tabor does almost all of the motor builds for RRev Motorsports, and quite a few for Torque Freaks as well, so I know it will be in good hands. They also quoted me a 2 week turn around, which is quite bit better than the 2 month one we got from Paolos.

We will my car the hell outta the shop soon, I promise. =)

Zai- Please give me a call, I need to figure out how to get the block up to Tabors. Thanks man.

We will prob be up at the dyno most of this saturday. If you decide you want to get on then it's $50 and you'll prob get more than just 3 pulls since it's mostly just friends or friends of friends. Sheesh, i just used friends three times in that sentence and it didnt sound weird. Anyhow, it's pretty laid back, generally good variety of cars, depending on how many people want to run or tune we generally just go with the flow to try and get everyone on.

Far as wheel bearings go, I think Car quest is prob the closest place to you that can do that for you. Otherwise, let me know ahead of time and i can do it for you. It's generally easier if you slide hammer the hubs out and then press the bearings.

I'll call you tomorrow Paul. Good to see you havent given up yet, haha.

They shot down my idea of stuffing a 7mgte into an MKII tonight. What a bunch of slackers, haha. Guess they need more incentive, or i should put more thought into it and then not tell them when i've figured it out, heeeh!

Project91 is almost at the 30 mile mark, can't believe it's got so few miles on it. Those are some seriously hard miles though, LOL. At this rate i'm prob gonna be changing the oil before it gets 50 miles on it. Seems to run a lot smoother as it wears in. I noticed last night that the flames are gettin longer outta the exhaust, Hahaha.

Well, I dont know if this is the best place to be asking this, but Im in a bit of trouble with my 94 MR2 Turbo.

Basically, we began this morning replacing a rear main seal as well as the clutch and flywheel with new parts. The disassembly went fine, the main seal, clutch and flywheel all went in and the tranny was lined up fine. The problem came when it was time to get everything back together. The transmission is all bolted up right, but when attempting to reattach the front most motor mount bracket, a bolt snapped off in the block. I beleive a small piece of it is sticking out. Since I wont be able to use this shop again until next Saturday, it seems the best thing for me to do is take it to someone who really knows MR2's... My buddy is a Ford mechanic so hes not intimately familiar with them.

I know this is a workshop thread, but I didnt really know how else to get a hold of the guys at Moua Bros quickly. Id basically like to bring my car in on a flatbed and drop it off with all the remaining pieces that need to be installed (axles and front motor mount) and just pay you guys to do it, which I probably should have done in the first place.

If this is a bad way to go about getting ahold of the guys at Moua Brothers, let me know and Ill just shoot them a PM. I figured I would post it publicly because maybe someone has some insight that I dont into another way to get out of this little pickle Ive gotten into.

Thanks!
Adam

It was definitely a 14mm. From what I can tell happened that slave cylinder wasnt seated quote right or wasnt seating at all and so even though I still had threads to take up there was too much stress on the bolt. Ill call tonight and get it all worked out I suppose.
