The Largest Track And Meet Ever?

Ok so i have an idea. i just want to see how many people would be willing to fork out the cash cuz it wouldnt be cheap. I was thinking about a meet a miller motorsports park just outside of salt lake city utah. miler motorsports park is one of the largest road courses in the us and considered one of the most state of the art. The track at Miller Motorsports Park is a 4.5-mile, 40-50 foot wide, 24-turn circuit, the longest in North America. It has four different configurations, ranging from two different 2.2-mile circuits (East and West Courses) to the 3.08-mile Perimeter Course and the 4.5-mile Full Course. The 3500-foot main straightaway allows the fastest cars and motorcycles to approach 200 mph before braking for Turn 1. as i said, this wouldnt be cheap, prob a MINIMUM of 100 per car for the day but it would be an experience of a lifetime. i plan to call them tomarrow to see exactly what would be required and what the cost would be but i just wanted to see what the intrest would be. im thinking mid to end of july. the nice thing about this is that it is kind of central to the west side of the us so cars from utah, arizona, california, nevada, colorado, oregon, idaho ect would be able to drive to it in one day. once again, this is just an idea in the early stages so dont get your hopes up but if it sounds like something you would be willing to do, let me know and maybe we can make this happen. here is the link to the track info. Miller Motorsports Park
thanks

U-MOC

Most people down for a meet, but miller is gonna want to charge $150+ for a track day with just MR2's and too be honest, I don't know if you can get the minimum amount of people out there.

I would LOVE it!

And ya, it is a little spendy, but it's one of those things that most people don't get to experience. The places to stay are crazy cheap out there too; it's quite literally in the middle of no where. The town is like hook-up capitol of the area though. Lets just say there is little else out there to do lol. Regardless, it's about 35min or so from SLC.

If you set it up, I am sure you could get a couple dozen cars out there (I know a few of the Idaho guys would LOVE it! They race almost every year). With no GT Live event this year too, it'd be a nice replacement.

It also might help to get w/ another car club to get a decent discount and set something good up. Being as much as it is, it may not be as big of a turnout as I'd think (If you can get a 100 dollar track day out there, people would be stupid not to!), and hooking up w/ another car club would fix that.

Let us know what MMP says .

ok so i just got off the phone with miller motorsports. the guy i talked to said he would put together a couple packages and get back to me in the next day or so. the general outlay would be as follows. show up on a friday afternoon-evening for a bbq. camping at the track will be allowed or there are some hotels to rent out. saturday morning would be a show and shine from around 9-12ish. after lunch we would use the track for the remainder of the day. the idea would be to have both the east and the west track running at the same time for most of the day and then in the evening, we would switch to just the main track so everyone could run that a couple times. saturday night would be a raffle, drawing, and prizes. then sunday morning, everyone would say goodbye and head home. i should hear back with more info in the next day or so on prices and more details. start spreading the word that this might be happening and lets make this an experience of a life time. i told him a minimum of 20-30 cars would prob be there so let DO THIS.

Just for people to know.....

The Miller Motorsports Park is amazing! I was able to attend the induction ceremony in Salt Lake City before I moved and it was an amazing presentation of the track and what they offer. I can't say I have been to the track yet, but if you get something going, I would seriously consider driving the 17 hours to attend an event like that.

just a quick check on mapquest and everyone from wyoming down to arizona and everyone west of there could make this trip in 13 hours or less. seattle is just over 12. denver is around 7. portland is around 10. los angeles is around 8. so this is easily a 1 day drive for ALOT of people.

Bump for this topic.

We need to get more people interested. I'm working REALLY REALLY hard on my car JUST for this meet. so i invite other 2 owners to do what they can do, to make it happen. Like Pheonix and djskorch said, this is a chance of a lifetime.this track is AWESOME. if all goes well, maybe we can pull this off once a year. OR TWICE!

Just to encourage people some more. im driving 5 hours. to salt lake.
^_^ see you there, on a hot, sunny day at the track!

if i can get this set up and get a good enough turnout, im gunna try to set this up as a yearly thing. ill be driving about 7 hours to this from boise idaho. im still waiting to hear back from the guy at miller motorsports so ill keep updating as i get more info. this is only going to happen if we can get a minimum of 20 cars to show up so im gunna start a list in my first post of people that are interested.

Ok so heres the deal. if we were to do this on a weekend, its gunna cost roughly 250 per car if we get 30 cars. if we do this on during the week, and we get 30 cars, i can get if for 150 per car. if we can get 50 cars, it would be 100 per car. basically it will be around 8000 total on the weekend and 5000 during the week. this includes the following. a bbq on the night everyone shows up, the following day will be a show and shine and autox for the first part of the day, and then useage of the track for the remaining part of the day. another bbq for dinner or everyone can do there own thing for dinner. the following morning would be prizes, raffle, goodbyes ect. and then everyone goes home. i know during the week it will be harder to get enough people but as has been stated, this is an experience of a lifetime. so... i need to start getting a list of people that are interested so we can see if this is going to be a possibility. alright guys, the ball is in your court now. lets get at least 30 of us and get this set up.

damn. honestly. 250 seems allot for a meet, specially after a drive of 4-5 hours.

why not stick to our planned Pocatello meet.?

Chances are I could make the drive if it's no sooner than 2 months away. Looks like I can take Interstate 80 all the way there. About 18 hour's w/ a radar detector. Looks like it should be tons of fun.
