Hey there. I'm one of Chris's friends. Just thought I'd throw my car into the mix, since Chris and I have been talking about a match. 1989 Honda CRX. (yeah I know, it's not a toyota.. sorry) B16A JDM SiR swap. CTR cams, Mugan tuned computer, Skunk2 intake manifold, TypeR throttlebody, Powercore headers, 2-1/2" exhaust, MSD ignision system, pullies, 6 puck-no spring racing clutch, Lightened flywheel, Y1 tranny, gutted interior... here is the web site... http://www.geocities.com/cadmando18/...-VTEC-CRX.html Thought it would be fun to have honda in there;-) |

I had a CRX that was build EXACTLY the same, but with a centerforce clutch, and a DC Type R Header, Tuned with ghettodyne. sucker ripped.
BTW, you forgot one car Chris. I'll stick with your numbers just to keep everything even, but MR2's usually sit at about 18-20% drivetrain loss as opposed to 30%: Paul's MR2: 2780lb 500 HP @ Flywheel * 0.70 drivetrain loss = 350 HP at the wheels 470 FT/LB @ Flywheel * 0.70 drivetrain loss = 308 T at the wheels Power to Weight Ratio: 350 / 2780 = 0.1259 (or 7.94:1) Torque to Weight Ratio: 308 / 2780 = 0.1108 (or 9.03:1) Next week should be the beginning of the transformation. Still waiting on 1 company to get their act together with my parts, and then its assembly time! ![]() |

Hey guys!
Sorry I haven't stopped by the last couple weeks, crazy busy. Tomorrow should work out all right (hopefully) so I can come see what's going on. I'm in serious need of a new clutch on my car... '91 NA (the red one that came by a few weeks ago, thinking about a swap). I'm going to need to put the new clutch in before I even think about trading or selling this car, so I was hoping to either get a reference to a good mechanic who could do it on relatively short notice, or if it's something that I could fumble my way through on Saturday with the (verbal) assistance of anyone who would be willing, I would be very thankful. That brings up an interesting question... do they even keep clutches in stock at the dealership? Hmm... I'll check back here tomorrow before I head over there to see what's going on, I'm trying to drive the car as little as possible at the moment as the clutch is starting to slip more and more easily no matter how easy I go on the gas. Thanks in advance! =) |

Hey, good to see yr still around. If you want an Aisin clutch you can try Discout Import Parts, their number is on the first post/page of this thread. Shop has pretty much cleared out, whoopy! Just my car, Paul's, and now Lengs. Have a little more customer work to do in the morning, then back to Lengs swap and maybe more work on mine. Yr welcome Vince, just figured you'd put so much work into yr car it could use some serious BLING, haha. Next project up will be Seth W's swap, while we wait for Pauls engine.

HEY ZAIII!!!!!
Its 4:30 AM I've had way too many energy drinks today... I got my taxes back couple of days ago (CASH MONEY) ![]() Anyway, I'm wondering if I can bring my two up to you and have you recommend some service and some prices...if you want to make some money...I acutlaly have the money now, so I can actually pay you now .. I miss driving my two so much. I love my little 22re, but man its just missing something... OH YEAH...horsepower... the bench seat is nice though ![]() Its not holding a charge but the voltage is high when its running so I have a feeling its the battery...my friend joey has me hyped up on the redtop optima, but none of the battery recommenders list it as an option for my car...is there a good reason I shouldn't buy the redtop gel battery for my car? Let me know, as soon as I get the battery in my car, i'm driving out to drop it off with you that is of course, assuming you want to work on my car...honestly theres like, one mechanic I trust, his name starts with a Z and ends with an AIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII that and you're just straight up the coolest guy on the planet. *hopes chuck norris isn't reading this post*man, energy drinks are bad stuffs.... ZAI! I will call you on Monday...or maybe tommorrow on lunch break from work. I'm working weekends only now, school on weekday afternoons/nights oh yeah, just so you guys know..... chemistry sucks ![]() |

hey everyone.... Im havin probs with the ignition (no spark), and throwing code 6 (no signal from ng/g plug, or igniter). So what I need to know is if anyone has an igniter for sale (87 na) or could this be something else wrong? I have replaced the coil, cap and rotor, and plugs (burnt plugs, and cap). and will an 88 aw11 or 2nd gen carolla igniter work?
