The corolla would do 115 with larger diameter tires.

I need to change the final drive ratio.
The transmission and tires are basically as tall as I can get them.

I am using the math of gear+final drive+tire size, to determine my top speed method.

Just so we can accurately determine speeds, we should probably use the same method.

if I were to indicate speed... my indicated speed would be like 135mph... *lol*

Either you aren't very good at math, your speedo is broken, or improperly geared if you have a 30 mph variance from actual speed vs what you stated the math works out to. I suggest you fix it.

I used the foot applied to gas pedal method.

Actually, I don't think the Kia has been above 80 mph.

Math was, actually, one of my better subjects in school.

My speedo functions within the specifications I am asking it too. I'm not asking it to do anything for me.

Improperly geared: The Corolla is VERY improperly geared. Everything for my speedometer is using 3 different vehicles to calculate my speed and my current tires are VERY over sized.

Example, if you ask me my _INDICATED_ speed on the front straight of PIR, I'll tell you it's 197mph on my 05 GSXR1000. If you ask me my _ACTUAL_ speed, I'd tell you it's around 170-175mph. Yes! That is a 22-27 mph difference. Why? I went +3 teeth on the rear sprocket. Stock from the factory there is a manufacturing tolerance with every system. On suzuki's it seems to be around 5 - 7.5%.

In short: Worry about your own speed-o-meter, because yours needs to be 'fixed' too cause it'll be off from the factory! Oh no! It could be even worse if you changed the diameter of your tires by ~2.7" I'll take the math of W rpm + X gear + Y Tire Size = Z speed any day over "My speed reads. . ."

Now RPM + Gear + Final Gear + Tire size = your actual speed was?

-C

PS. You can find a calculator on the Interweb that'll tell you a close estimate of what your speed is. Or if you had a GPS system... that'd be cool to know too.

I think it actually works out to be:
(Motivation / Caring) + (Distance / Time / Gas_Prices) = Whenever

Actually I was going to swing it by tonight, cause I have it in my car today... and my math indicated: 2 days late > Never

Well unless the 94 deg day outside somehow set it on fire *doh*

you know I know where you live right?

Hey just for fun I did a little looking around for inconel tubing and it looks like it is made, the only question is cost (probibly a ****load), so I e-mailed a few places. I figure when I go back to work I'll ask around and see if I can get it from work it possible (who knows). it would be really slick though to make a set of headers out of it. Their a are a few badass welders at work as well who would probibly be more than happy to make/weld up something like that....I'll look into it. http://www.burnsstainless.com/TechAr...l_article.html

Well, i was up at the Dyno at Paolo's helping SethV tune his car for an hour or so today. His best was 190hp/130ft lbs., hp climbs pretty fast, torque is nice and even all the way. I was kinda surprised, so little pwr for how fast he is. He was a bit dissapointed, but the temp was reading 101 degrees in the shop, so i figure it's gotta be making less.
