you'll have to come on by and help out if you want to know
so far nothing is set in stone but I'll probibily donate my car for the build, got to put it to good use. Now I know you guys (zai) was talking about one idea for the motor but why not go all out and go with my suggetion I wanted to do with the car? It's preaty much bullit proof fron the get go and I've seen alot of people get close to 400HP out of basic bolt on's. It would definitily be able to handel much more power, the only down side is none of us have one to my knowlege. We'd probibly have to tube the back to make it fit, cus it's longer than what normally fits in their. |

this is really frustrating me.. cant find the SST for the timing pulley ( I know I could get it @ the dealer, but I work during their business hours) I got a tool that is the same, but the bolts are slightly too big. Anyone know what size bolts are needed? I know its around a 7mm, but the 7's I have dont seem to catch the threads.

Ima see about getting cash to you for Paolo's work in the next couple days Zai. They accept Visa/Debit, but they charge 4% on top of purchase price if they swipe, or 8% if they call it in with just numbers. He said that is what the bank charges him, so he passes off the costs, but that is damned steep!!

itss also because some people have been burned by that before.... ( not meaning you) but if you put it on a card you have up to 6 months to call and have the charges reversed.... that why my Co. ( and all other Electricians) don't take cards. no Insurance on it.

blademr2: best way is with a puller. if you are using a puller and dont have the right bolts, go to the hardware store and get the right bolts. they are probably going to be 8 mm bolts, like 8x125 or 8x150 thread pitch. You need a good puller, otherwise it will just bend the crap outta yr tool. You must make sure the through bolts have plenty of threads into the harmonic dampener/crank pulley and that the tool is properly centered( it should have some type of centering piece). Crank pulleys can be very hard to remove if they've rusted on so take the crank bolt out and soak the center down with penetrating oil. You've got to keep the crank pulley from moving when you are using the puller. I generally use a chain wrench and a small piece of timing belt so not to put big dents in the pulley.
paul: it's all good, sorry cant do anything to help with cost though. Just give me a call whenever. I've discussed the NEW shop project with a few of you and soon as i hear from the peeps in charge we will form a committee or sumthing and meet with them to determine how it will go. |

So Zai or any other guru out there I dont know which alternator to get for the car now.... Toyota has a few different options and in 93' they seemed to switch the alternator also. they have a 70amp 80amp and 100amp I would say it would be the 100amp because the car has power everything including powersteering. I cant remember if we used the alterator off my 91' or if my engine and tranny also came with an alternator. Anyways it seems like toyota also switched the plugs on the alterator too in 93. But since we are using a 91' harness it seems to me that the only logical way for the car to run right would have been using the 91' alterator to fit the plug. Also any part numbers in the answer would be great! Craig
BTW I am in Colorado, So my buddy Dom is doing the work and its hard cordinating this. Car is for sale for a pretty good deal too! |

I'll be out later tonight to drop of the skrill. =)
When you pick my parts up, could you please make sure to get a receipt detailing all of the machine work done, and the cost? I like to keep these things for insurance and other purposes. Here is a list of the parts of mine Paolo's has currently: Rods Pistons (in box with accessories) Valves Clutch Flywheel Glad the block is done finally! =) |

man the city of portland is ****in worthless, I got a tow warning on my car today saying it's a "abandoned vehical" I dont get it because it's parked on the side of my house with a car cover on it. My neighbors are a bunch of ****heads, we have a old celica up the street that hasnt ran for years and I've never seen any warnings on that, I dont get how that work.
Anyways if someone either wants the car or can store it somewhere that would be great because with the city of portland being the dueshbags they are I cant keep it at my house. zai any chance you want a dead car at your house until the future project rolls around? |
