good news! as i have been driving around the worthless city of donald i came across a mark 1 sitting in a field. i went out there one night and the owners werent home. tonight i went out there and the owner said the only reason it is in the field is because he got a new vw golf. the only thing wrong w/ it besides paint fading and clear coat peeling is that the battery is dead, front tires bad, back tires low, black leather interior cracking. 600$. dylan is gonna help me check it out sometime after this weekend. lets hope i picked a winner.

We need to form a commitee for this project. I'm currently very busy with customer work, but i can organise the build if someone is willing to take the time and take the lead. Of course i'm prob gonna end up figureing it out, but someone needs to keep track of it. This will be something that we will try to get done very quickly, so the more bodies there are working on it the better. This is the basic idea of what i've been talking about.
Workshop Group Project 1: 1/4 mile mr2. Most likely using SethW's shell. 5sgte , the one in the corner steve and i haven"t had time to assemble. Spare NA tranny, spare axles. Most of the spare parts in storage, haha. It will go to the Beat the Heat organisation. Once assembled and running, it will get all the necessary additions to pass tech. for racing. Then it will get painted along with a light bar and sirens, so it will look like a police car. From what I understand, Multnohma county sheriff will sponsor the law enforcement decals. No, we will not be driving the car, it is for Beat the Heat. They will put the donors names on it and it will be shown at various events as well as being run at PIR when they run their other car. I'd like this to be a good learning tool for everyone and it would be way cool to see a police mr2, haha. I'd also like it to be able to outrun their other car, LOL. Anyhow, now that you guys get the gist of it, i'm waiting to hear from them and then we will organise with them and pool braincells, heeh. |

Zai and I talked about the Beat the Heat thing for a while last night. I'm definately game for it, and would be willing to chair the project. Big thanks to Zai last night for all his help too. My car started making a strange cunking/groaning noise about 2 weeks ago. It's been getting worse too. Well, I got to the shop and jacked it up to find the front of torque mount on the body torn. Well, thanks to Zai, got it all welded up, then welded a plate over both mounting areas and put it back together... after I stripped one of the moutning bolts. Works a lot better now, no clunking or other bad noises.

Ok guys, i got confirmation that the project is a go. Dylan, you need to start organising the slackers, haha. We will be having a meeting so everyone will get to meet everyone else. In the meantime, we will be assembling parts for this project. I would like it to be done quickly, hopefully before the end of summer. They have a special event that they'd really like to have the car debut at. Anyone with spare parts is welcome to donate them, you do get a tax write off for it. Please direct your inquiries to Dylan.

Hey Dylan, time to gather up the slackers, we really should get started on the shop project.
On another note, i've ordered the Innovate stand alone datalogger package, it should be here in a week. I'm thinking bout using it on Project91. I've had the chance to use it a little with this friend of mine that has one. I'm going to wire it up so that we can transfer it to other vehicles so the whole group can use it for testing and tuneing. If anyone wants to pitch some $$ towards it i would really appreciate it. There is a cruise in in Gresham at the Kmart this saturday. I would like everyone that can make it to come, we will take a lunch break from the workshop day, so they can meet the people from Beat the Heat cause they are going to be there. |

Damnit, Saturday is also the St. Helens run with Jim Brethauer. Got more details on where and when? I'm thinking we should start another thread dedicated to the project. Who all do we have on board?

Damn this thread has been busy. No way I am going to try to read all that.
Well I am still in Co and working 90 hour weeks for the past couple building an addition for Vanessas parents. It sure is nice making money though. I hope to be back by the beginning of AUG but the way things have gone I really don't know fer sure. Zai it sounds like you got the 91 running. Congrats. |

Hey Summer, nice to see you're still keeping in touch. Steve says the blackberry bushes have decided to take ownership of yr car, he doesnt have the balls to face them, and i think they've beaten his mower.
I hope you enjoyed the ride Paul. Most definitely louder inside the car, and we really should do this again during the day so the damned shift light doesnt blind us, haha. |
