Oregon DEQ ( Smog )

As of July 5, 2006 enhanced emission testing will no longer be a part of our program. 1975 to 1995 model year vehicles will get the basic test and 1996 and newer will get the OBD test.

Light duty passenger car and truck- 6000 GVWR or Less:

Model year, Hydrocarbons (HC), Carbon monoxide (CO)

1975-1980 w/o cat, 300 ppm, 2.5%
1975-1980 w/cat, 220 ppm, 1.0%
1981 & newer-idle rpm, 220 ppm, 1.0%
1981 & newer-2500 rpm, 220 ppm, 1.0%

There shall be no visible emission during the steady-state unloaded and raised rpm engine idle portions of the emission test from either the vehicle's exhaust system or the engine crankcase.

The standard for dilution ( CO+CO2 ) is a minimum of six percent.

No vehicle emisson control test is valid if the engine idle speed exceeds 1300 rpm.

The maximum allowable noise level is 93 dBA for all front engine vehicles and is 95 dBA for all rear and mid engine vehicles.

Simple solution my friends... either register your car in someplace in BF-nowhere, where smog laws do not apply (I think Vince is safe... and I know McMinnville is - thats where all of mine are registered); or you can get the car titled as a SP vehicle, which can also get you insurance breaks, but it is a pain in the *** to deal with. Just be glad we're not in California. Then again, Humboldt isn't too bad since you only have to smog your car when its sold. Just watch out for the hippies and tree-huggers... they see a car that smokes (other than their own busted *** VW beetle that looks like it's on fire) at all, and they'll get the EPA down here turning over every rock till they find it.
