July 4th Meet

Here's what I posted over at the mr2oc...

OK guys, time for a semi-on-topic July 4th info and headcount thread right... so the place is only 20 to 25 minutes from last year's location if you came out last year. MAP HERE I'm guessing you'll want to zoom out a little to see where the place is. Yes, the house looks like a barn, two stone thingies at the entry, can't miss it once you get on Crow road. What time did we get going last year? I thought the times were good last year if no one objects. Folks need to coordinate what they'd like to bring grub and liquid refreshment wise, I'm pretty clueless when it comes to that part of things I'll trust that to more capable folks. I'm guessing we should also come up with a rain plan... in case. Well... I'm coming so:

I was informed I hadn't posted about it here... being as I haven't ever really "taken up residence" over here yet. What we have is an awesome place for the meet, close to 80 some odd acres, lots of space to park our cars, place looks like a park, etc. Pics can be seen of the place http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/grandsport387/my_photos there. Sorry, guys, I don't think I'll still have the GS at that point, it is supposed to be picked up the weekend before (yes that means if you have a mk2 MR2 for sale beware, lol). MR2's and other high end cars have been invited, this is the annual meet that is usually at Mitch's place, but Mitch can't be home this year and isn't letting us come over without him there for some reason... bummer, lol. This is only 20-25 minutes away from his place I believe so we're keeping it close to its last location, just out of Charlotte.

I also just posted this on the oc site...

If you can't manage chairs well, that's cool, the grandfather (further down the drive) has 30-50 lawn chairs for when he has groups out to view his log houses/antique collection that fills the two log houses. The place is called Helms Haven and we have two log houses on the property that are filled with antiques that my grandfather has collected over the years. I'll check and see if he'll be around that day and wants to let folks walk through, if so anyone who wants to tour the houses is welcome, I'll keep ya posted. He has folks come from all over the world to see the place, one of the cabins was owned by Andrew Jackson's father. Of course I'm sure people will want to tour the shop, dad does paint and body work, mostly on classics and muscle cars, has a lift, insane paintbooth, etc. You guys will enjoy I'm sure!

I hope to have as many 2's as we can get out there, so if you don't have plans, come join us, last year was awesome! Had a Lotus, crazy turbo Supra, a WRX (that I missed) and I believe a Ferrari (that I also missed) show up for a bit last year as well, hopefully we'll have that type thing happen again, that'd be great!

Sister's birthday? Can't you stop by around 12 or 1 and leave around 2? You'll be home by diner and good to go.

I would have made the trip up if I would have known about it sooner. Hope you have a good event.

If I wasn't already spending $75-90 every week on gas, I wouldn't have hesitated to come.
