The guy did it himself @ his work. I'm sure he got around to it.

![]() MZ is lighter, the cams give them the opposite style powerband, their OBD-II, the cam & crank position sensors don't always pick-up right on piggybacks, they're distirbutorless / wasted spark, some have vvt (97 ES/Windom) others have vvt-i, some can fit the (blah) trd supercharger, they have a returnless fuel system with fuel rails that don't flow evenly, something about the knock sensors are sometimes defective (pulling timing when they shouldn't), vvt-i = drive-by-wire, And they're weaker than other v6's. In a nut shell, the only time I would say go buy a 1mz-fe instead of a 3/5vz-fe is if you had to have something ULEV compliant. They're not my favorite engine family. But that's another thread, if you wanna discuss other engine's make a thread. |

Here are some interesting charts off of the 1mz SAE paper: ![]() ![]() The Previous 3.0l v6 is the VZ stuff. I really like superior cylinder bore distortion the VZ block seems to have as compared to the MZ. |

When I see a stock piston'd 1mz-fe last as long as any vz block under boost. I'll be concerned about that cylinder bore distortion.
![]() Maybe it's that superior combustion rate at a 14.5:1 AFR that blows them up! Maybe if their owners would try to run more than a 14.5:1 AFR under boost they'd last the long haul~! I jest. I have two outstanding rules: ![]() ![]() |

that 1uzfe head is a little too much ported wouldnt you think? unless thats the exhaust side that fuel is gonna bounce in there and not spread around, it will ressemble water in out of space! and just clump towards the spark plug! Otherwise it looks flipping awesome

So looks like I'm sourcing a 3zvfe for my MR2. I also noticed that the 3VZFE out of the JDM 4 Runner has a intake mani similar to that of the 3SGTE, which in my opinion is even more ideal for a MR2.

To bad they are so expensive! I would love to build a 3vz-e :P The sound a twin valve engine makes is amazing
If done right they can produce mounds of TQ too ![]() |

I dont really see where you showed that it was better than a 5VZ...except maybe in price and OBD-II...but the 5VZ, in my opinion, is just good enough to merit the higher price...and what's really bad about OBD-II...really?
