first you can see that my tps got pwned by the chain or sumthing. and i also didnt get the alternator like most ppl dont or sumthing. engine in the spare 1991 mr2 turbo is no good. bought as project car from nate (
n8s93turbo on emmmmm are toooooo oohhhh seeee ) first thing i noticed when i got the car was the new walbro install was leaking. so that gotta come out after engine.
trunk carpet etc was funky, car has probably been mostly sitting for 3+ years until i bought it a month ago frebeezed the hell out of the interiro and let it air out for a longgg time, seems good now actually only took a month lol! pass seat is great driver sux. Some of the paint work sux, but ill address that later. engine is reading like 80 psi tops on one cyl so out she goes! I got a 1997 4 runner 5vzfe there as u see, complete with wiring harness all the way to ecu, for simple install! got the engine for 600 on ebay form some guy who got sent the wrong engine guess he needed a 3vze or sumthing for there t100 or whatever. engine is mostly disco\nneted awith all fluids drained. Move the rolling chassis to the new house :P now i just need to bring my tools over, i wanna tear into the engine a little bit and clean it up and take off the fan etc. :P I plan on boosting it wid a hydra ems shooting for 400 ish whp and lotsa tq. the v6s seem to sound nice with a good muffler so im gonna run the greddy i have for a while, might not roll god wid 400 whp though.... on turbo two turbos whatever i can make fit and work good, maybe 2 ct26 s with oem compatible down pipes etc.
about to get the 4v6 3vzfe mount on order.....
Encourage me!
-Toby

only changing the final drive will change all the 5 gear which means getting a new output shaft and differential ring gear. it takes alot of effort so it's not worth to many unless they are some of the extreme few. getting bigger tires is one way which im also planning to do. hope i can fit 45 tall tires in a 17 back there

I keep telling people: E53 from 92-93 Camry/ES300

With only some narrow 225/40/17s on my car, I do 70mph @ ~2700rpm in 5th. It's a dream with the 1MZFE. Third gear pulls hard to 90mph. If you're modding for drag racing or something and can rev to/past 7000rpm, it's pretty much the best gearbox available.

The tougher option (and one that has not been done yet) would be to use the input/output shafts along with the ring gear from an E53, add in the limited slip differential of your choice and then have the actual gearsets from an E153 pressed on (assuming they fit.. they should..). See, compared to the E53, the MR2 and Camry/Solara (1MZ) E153s have taller individual gear ratios, but shorter final drive gearing. The E53's final gear ratios are taller, but if you combined the taller gearsets from the E153 with the taller ring gearset from the E53, you'd have really tall gearing (maybe too tall..). Hrm..

But yeah, E53. Just throw an MR2 E-series center case at it and you're good to go. Camry bellhousing + MR2 center case = perfect

^ That is something that works very well for FI people. You can also use the solara internals as well.

That sounds decent, I so use e53 which is tranny more suited for the v6 ne waysz, or hybrid it for even lower ratios niice.
Btw no pics of broken engine stand I stuck it by trash and some one wanted it b4 I got a pic of it I guess lol, hope they don't put an engone on it, sorry for the slow updates I just finished up moving in yay! Got new engine stand yesterday!
So how tuff is it to use the v6 tranny case since its meant for fwd I heard sumthing about drilling something so it works from the opposiite side, is that right could some one explain that?
Thanx
Toby

Hey answer some questions if you know the answer plz! :P is harmonics balancer a fancy name for the acc pully? suprised u can see the nes controller there in the 2nd pci you should be able to see 2 media chelves still plastic wrapped from moving that hold my 550 different nes games :P im sizing down my collection and putting the money into stuff like this car project....
as much stuff that i can use off of a 3vzfe im thinking about picking up a swap for parts! lol try to use intake manifold, use some tranny parts..... i wonder if i could swap the heads on....... well if i could finagle that the intake manifold wouldnt be an issue lol
ooh yeah annnnnd poll what color should i paint the block? i was gonna go flat black, wife said neon green then she said purple when i said neon green would show dirt to much

Harmonic balancer = crank pulley or the pulley that yanks with the a/c,ps, and alternator.
if you were to paint the block i would do it in silver, that way you can easly spot for leaks.

Please tell me you removed the lock bolt located on the either the front or rear of the head (depending on the side of block).
Its 6 or 8mm hex head bolt and should be the FIRST one you remove otherwise you could damage the head by trying to pry the head up (much as you are now...)
Also did you remove the headbolts? some people like to loosen them all the way but leave them in the head and they can catch causing it to become a bitch to remove...

In summary to remove either head you should have 1 hex head bolt (very long bolt) and 8 head bolts
