Somewhere between $200 - $200k

Most v6 swaps end up being between $2k - $5k

It really depends. Since the 3VZ was only offered during the 92-93 model years, you're more than likely to find one with over 100k miles on it unless it came from Japan. If you rebuild it yourself, you can save a lot of money. Or you can save even more money by just putting it in the car, but I'd at least do the seals because why put another leaky engine in after all that hard work?

You get what you pay for and spend time on basically. If you can wire and fabricate exhaust pipes and the passenger side motor mount, that's more money you save.

Since you have an N/A, you'll need a new fuel pump, so you'll have to drop the tank. And if you use the E53/E153, you need the turbo hubs and axles along with the V6 intermediate shaft and carrier bearing which also needs a slight modification. If you use the S54, you'll have a car that accelerates quite well, but the trade-off is the high cruising RPM on the freeway and ratios which don't suit the torque curve of the 3VZ well at all.

I have seen a lot of motors on ebay with anywhere between 20k and 85k, I'd assume the latter to be true, but I wouldn't mid one of the 94+ JDM motors.

This is useful info.

I've got about $800 into my 3VZ project so far.

I Still need:
-1mz flywheel
-Passenger side motor mount
-Custom cat back exhaust
-Turbo Axles & Hubs

I'm guessing my grand total will be around $1500 by the end.

I can probably fab the mount, it won't be pretty but it could work.

exhaust manifold - where can I get one? will the stock one not work?
Custom b-pipe - exhaust shop and $100 later I can probably have this done.
Accessories - Like the alternator? I can grab one for I think $40 used... but unless you are talking about like a RPM gauge thingy (I dunno if this swap needs one)

Sounds like you're set. The stock manifolds work just fine. The Tach just needs a little mod that can be found in the sticky section.

You can use the NA tranny or the Turbo trans. Here's my thread on peoples opinions of them. Another popular choice is s51 internals in the s54 bellhousing.

no...you need a custom clutch with 21 splines (I think) and a turbo pressure plate.

Going to need:

-AFM, stock airbox or a AFM Adapter+Cone Filter

-Ignitor/Coil

-You might need to pull the 4th ecu plug as well, its used in the new harness.

-Should also do water pump, timing belt, spark plugs, thermostat

-new throwout bearing

-flywheel MT bolts

Heres my thread about my costs:
