What temperature does your V6 idle at?

I've been tackling an overheating problem for the last several days and was wondering what temperature your guy's V6's idle at? My MegaSquirt says that I'm idling right around 198-200 deg. Seems kind of high to me, and once it gets to that temp, my car wants to miss more. What temps do your guy's V6's idle at out of curiosity? Thanks!

Todd

BTW I hate cross posting between boards, but decided I'd like to get the most responses.

185-190 here. Are you running the hot water the right direction thru the radiator? (so the fan switch sees the hottest water)

Thanks, that's a good idea, I'll check that.

OK, the drivers side is slightly cooler to the touch than the passenger side, so that theory is ruled out.

Did you lean the fuel mixture out any? If so, that might be why you're running about 10 degrees hotter than the OEM spec. You could try some water wetter or run a little more water than coolant to see if it levels out any.

What radiator are you running: the NA's or the turbo's?

The turbo model. And I think you might be spot on about the car running leaner. I just added resistors on the injectors because the PWM on the MegaSquirt was causing noise problems (MS doesn't like low-z injectors!) and had to increase the required fuel since the car was running lean. I'm about to go for a test drive, so I'll update when I get back. Hope that is indeed the issue!

Well the car was definitely running leaner, but I just put in a new wideband and I don't trust it completely yet so I didn't do any serious tuning to the fuel. It's a diy JAW kit (New Page 1) for those interested. Unfortunately it was still idling around 200 deg though even after richening up the idle some.
