3vz fe wiring harness, alternator, starter, ac

just a few quick questions. i searched for the answers, but could not find any concrete answers.

can i use a AT harness or does it have to be a manual?

has anyone used the 5sfe starter, alernator, or ac compressor on the 3vz fe?

the alternator and starter are very similar between the two, but i do not know if they will fit or cause any problems with the ecu.

There is no difference between a AT/MT engine harness, only the ecu is different.

The 5s-fe starter works fine. I am using one on a S-54 tranny and it lined up 100%.

Alternator I am not sure, my motor came with one so I used it, ac compressor I'm not sure about as I deleted ac during my swap.

i think the ac compressor is going to fit. the alternator should fit, but since it is a 91 and i have a 93 wiring harness the plug size should be different. i might be able to take the plug off the mr2 harness and splice it onto the 93 harness. it is a 70 amp alternator, but i think it will hold up-i dont have power steering.

the ac compressor fits the brackett, but only has one wire coming from it. the 3vz fe compressor has 3 wires. hopefully i can splice it and make it work...also the pulley on the 5sfe compressor is about 1 inch bigger in diameter so it does not fit perfectly with the water intlet pipe. i am not connecting it to the alternator bracket because it does not line up...hopefully the house tension will keep it from hitting the belt on the ac.

bought a v6 alt used for $45

for clarity does the passenger side coolant line connect to the lower inlet pipe above the compressor? and the drivers side line connect to the upper outlet?

Seems like your talking to yourself. jk good to know, I'm planning on doing the 3vz myself, I totally forgot about the alternator, thank you for reminding me.

ya, i have been talking and cursing a lot to myself lately. but the swap is almost done! i ended up just using the v6 ac compressor lol. the stupid hoses did not fit well. the passenger side one will fit ok, but the drivers side one does not fit at all. i spliced the camry and mr2 hoses together and it worked perfectly so you dont need a new hose.

so to recap: starter works with the s54, alternator does not, and ac compressor does not. this information is already available in other areas lol.
