how to tell.....
Ok, im from australia and toyota likes to watch the world burn so thats why they introduced different domestic markets just to **** with us all. what an ass hole right?
anyway, i have a 1mzfe 2003 engine out of an avalon, that turns out is NOT vvti. I have one of the plugs that go into the ecu with me, and the SHAPE of the plug matches with the wiring diagram for a pre 98 1mzfe out of a camry, BUT not all of the colours of the wires are the same. actually only a few match colour wise. My question is: How can i tell what generation 1mzfe i have? and if it is the same generation across the domestic markets (aus/US/Canada) will the pinouts be the same even though the colours are different? or should i keep searching for another wiring diagram? and, are the plugs on the pre 98 1mzfe same as the post 1mzfe; is there even such a thing as a 98+ 1mzfe without vvti? thanks for the help guys, wiring is such a headacchhee!! x.x |

Also, Paul Woods sent a spare 97 28pin body harness connector to me from the UK. None of the colors matched my US wiring diagram! So I would locate a diagram specifically for your Australian market donor car, to be sure. |
