automatic question.
i was just wondering about the auto transmission in the mr2 and the ecu for an automatic camry/avalon.
i know there is a signal wire for the automatic solenoid that needs to be modified with a resistor so you don't get a code on the automatic ecu when using it with a manual transmission. my 1st question is, if you were to use an automatic transmission from a mr2, would it have the solenoid like the v6 transmission and therefore the wire in question would get hooked up? 2nd question, does anyone know what rpm the engine would be turning at say 70mph with eth automatic? and 3rd question, is it possible to convert the automatic transmissioned mr2 to use turbo mr2 axles? |

1. newer auto tranny has more selenoids, it may plug in but the ecu will notice it's missing a few
3. yes if you use a v6 auto tranny 4. buy some brass balls and learn the stick |

ok, so with the auto mr2 tranny there would still nee dto be some ecu tricking done. i thought i had read that a v6 tranny wouldn't work in an mr2 at all, that it was too different.
i do have brass balls and everything i own is manual. also everything i have ever owned has either been manual or i converted it to manual after the auto blew up. however, driving in rush hour traffic near DC has taught me that autos are nice. my taco was out of commission for a few days and my mechanic let me borrow his 9000 cse. man it was so nice not having to shift driving to work. but i was glad to get the taco back cuz i missed my cupholders. which brings me to another question. do mk2 mr2s have cup holders? |
