Hello everyone, I'm looking for yet another mr2! (I'm in Georgia) I've almost taken the plunge into an STI but I just don't think I can do it. I am very mechanically inclined and also a very good paint/body man - I have been working on these cars for nearly ten years. I've repaired large quarter panel dents and performed the mechanical side of a gen3 engine swap. So please be straight up with me about your cars!
Here's what I'm looking for: Price will be dependable on car but right now my upper budget for a n/a is about 3k and turbo about 4k. Plenty of cars out there but gas prices are limiting me to around 900 miles and I'd prefer to travel into Fl for one. I'm ready to buy TODAY but as it will be a project, I'm waiting for the right one. (very impatient though) Must be without major damage that causes the front end not to line up, doors/t-tops not close right, fenders not line up, roof buckled, basically dents and dings/fender benders are ok just nothing that hurt the frame. Any engine setup. I prefer something that hasn't had the wiring hacked up too bad. some rust is ok but be prepared to show me! I don't want one that has rust eating up the inside of the windshield gasket, or around the t-tops and especially with ROT. Surface rust is ok. The main thing is to be upfront with me, I just want to know what I'm buying. I realize it won't be perfect. You can also rest assured the car will be made better. I've set myself this budget watching what other cars sell for - I'll take the right rough car and make it something unique - maybe a hardtop Beam's Tom's replica? mmm.... oh yea, if I get a n/a, she will get a 3sge swap. Thanks for looking. |

I see a few mr2's around for sale in PA where I live but not many. Searching on craigslist I can find 2 or 3 but they arent worth it. Most I see on Philadelphia craigslist are listed for atleast 8000. Good luck with the buy.
This was the only one I could find that wasn't listed for way to much. 1992 Toyota MR2 - 5-Speed, Needs Work, Really Cheap- just in on trad |

I Also Agreed with him, I've been looking for an MR2 for about a year now. I Live In South Dakota sadly, cause nothing is around. I mechanically inclined as well. I'd like the car in good shape but still a project car. No huge chunks missing, keep it all together etc. If anyone has anything please let me know! Thank You! |

I'll keep my eyes peeled. Jrdn I could prolly find something around the mid-west, all depends on how far you want to travel to get it. And MR-squared...I've seen quite a few nice MR2's for sale in the Georgia area in the past. I'm sure it wouldn't be long before a sweet one pop's up!

mr3 - thanks for the heads up, I'd seen that one which brings me to a point - anyne notice how "not rare" hardtops have become?!? I've seen at least 5 hardtops for sale in the past 2-3 weeks.
Bluemr2 - I'm trying to be patient! If i wasn't being so picky about body/color, I would have had one by now.... |

Yea, I dont blame you. I got lucky and found mine for sale at the local grocery store sitting in the parking lot. And that was after a couple years of waiting.
