Looking for a 1986 mr2, good condition, anywhere.

Not buying for another 5 months or so- if you're in a rush I can't help you.

As the title said, it has to be an 86, and it has to be in good condition- I plan on driving it from wherever it is to (probably) florida, and then (definately) Maine, as a road trip. Would be flying out to the location to purchase: This brings up a few things.

I'd *like* to purchase from a respected member of the boards. that way I don't get something with a blown headgasket and find out a few hours after I purchase it. Don't wreck my vacation!

It has to be up for the highway drive! I'm not an abusive driver, but there are a-lot of miles between Florida and Maine, and probably just as many between wherever I might find one of these and either state.

If you truely love your car, selling it to me is either a great or a terrible idea. I will be the last owner of any car I ever own, and I mean that. The car will be subjected to my whims, my moods, and my moderately nomadic lifestyle; not to mention my habitat.

The car has to be solid! As little rust as possible, rust that can be completely removed without altering the structural integrity (much) of the car. I plan to completely and entirely de-rust this car, and to the best of my ability, rust-proof it. This means the frame, floors, hopefully panels, will have no more than light surface rust.

m-m-m-monster bump!
Looking to buy mid-may, now. Hoping to see the desert in my little roadtrip.

Seems the roadtrip is going to be a bit shorter, possibly. May be just from the pickup to maine, with a few detours.

Gotta be a mk1, bonus for an '86, bonus for great condition.

I have an 88 that otherwise fits your description, if you decide to loosen the preferred year criteria...
