Followup to my post earlier... I have been flogging my slotted and drilled rotors. The car stops like someone through a boat anchor out the window. They are great to me. I recently put SS Goodridge lines on them. Man, nice firm pedal now.
The other day I was going about 85 in the interstate and some jerkoff cut over in front of me two lanes. He saw me in his mirror after the fact and slammed on his brakes and decided he was going to freaking change his mind and cut back at the same time I was cutting back to avoid him.. I hit the brakes hard and fast and man I grabbed pavement and tires quickly barked as I dropped back and sideways about 10 degrees on angle and snagging on the road like I have never felt before. I quickly let off the brakes and the car snapped back, I pointed pointed center and kept going... he kept going too... no accident. But man a heartbeat was beating hard. It was amazing the control and reaction of this mr2. The whole incident lasted about 4 seconds. |

My awesome brake mod on my race cars consisted of finding the brake balance valve and pulling the valve out of it and hey presto even braking with more bias to the rear. With the valve the rear would act but it was always too late under hard braking and turn in. Without the stock balance valve the car brakes much better and the rears act much faster. Used to drive me nuts coming into a corner hard and pinching a front tyre, car was light enough to not flatspot them instantly but getting off the brakes ruined my line and speed so found a solution.
