Baxter's Classic Car Races

On Saturday the weather was warm as we had 15 of the finest looking and performing vehicles displayed. Our friends and club members from Washington and Canada were in attendance. Something new for this year was Concourse judging of our vehicles by an experienced Concourse judge. Judging commenced at 10:00A.M., ending at 12:00P.M, just in time for the start of the parade lap.

This years track officials placed Pace cars in front, the middle, and behind the Supra club to ensure a “Parade” lap. Our club was allowed to demonstrate the classy way of driving a Parade lap without Pace assistance. And demonstrate we did!

On Saturday afternoon the points were tallied from the judging sheets and awards were given to the following owners and their vehicles:

3rd Place Best of Show went to Kevin Burchmore’s remarkable red 87 N/A Mark I

Kevin’s vehicle had won Best Mark I earlier this year at the SW2003 Las Vegas event

2nd place Best of Show went to Dana Jensen’s classy silver metallic 91T Mark II

1st place Best Mark II went to Terry Meyer’s beautiful black 93 N/A

1st place Best Mark I & 1st place Best of Show went to Bill & Kim McGill’s striking blue metallic 85 N/A.

On Sunday the clouds came in and cooler weather prevailed as we had 13 participants displaying their vehicles within the corral. At 12:00P.M, the parade lap was again done by all of our “2’s” with class and elegance. Our club represented itself well at Baxter’s 2003. Fun was had by all at this year’s classic race!

Special thanks to Wally Child for his time and the experience he brought to the judging this year.
