The weather on Saturday for the annual Zupan's (Now
Baxter's) Classic Car Races @ PIR was in a word
"HOT". With 21 2's in attendance and plenty of parking space this year
fun was had by all. Everyone
there got a chance to enjoy the good weather and some of the best looking
and performing MR2s on the West
Coast.
On Saturday, each entry was given a ballet for both driver and passenger.
Then we all voted for our
favorite MKI, MKII, MKIII and Most Improved. When the tallys were
in, Ken Blakes' 93T took Most Improved. Ken has done some real eye catching
changes this past year, great job. Best MKI went to Bill McGill's 85na.
The blue beauty was perfect. Best MKII went to Tj Meyer's 93na, the
new wheels and added engine chrome added the finishing touches to his black
beauty. Best MKIII went to Steve Alten, Steve's red spyder was very
sharp.
It was cooler Sunday and the turnout was good as well (15 cars). Believe
it or not we actually got to keep
all the "2s" in line for the parade lap. We were glad they put the
Supra's behind us as they again
mis-understood the word "Parade Lap".
All in all another great Classic Car Race meet. Thanks to Dana and Ken again
this year for all your work. It
is truly appreciated by all.
