Subject: MR2 Summer Picnic Update

     MR2 owners,

There will still be an MR2 picnic! It will be Sunday, August 13th. It
will coincide with the Victoria party on the same weekend to celebrate
10 years of MR2 owners. If anyone has access to equipment so we could
teleconference between the two parties, it would be very cool!

THERE IS STILL NO CHARGE FOR THE PICNIC! All I ask is that when you
get here you find out what we need, hotdogs, hamburgers etc. and make
a run down to the grocery store a few blocks away and pick something
up, like I have to twist your arm to drive your cars anywhere.

There's been a change in sites to downtown Naperville, Illinois, 30
miles west of Chicago, all of the parks are already booked. A local
service station that's closed on Sunday has graciously offered his
place of business when he heard of our picnic. He is centrally
located in beautiful downtown Naperville. There is a park across the
street there with a pavillion that has a roof on it, the service
station also has an overhang so even if the weather turns bad for part
of the day it won't spoil our fun. We'll have a grill there and in
order to allow people to make up their minds about this at the last
minute we will grill hotdogs, hamburgers, whatever. There is a grocery
store 4 blocks away so we can get more supplies if we need them. The
owner has agreed to let us use the washrooms and the location is
central to all of the great downtown Naperville restaraunts in case
you want to try their fare instead of grilling.

No alchoalic beverages are allowed, though I can't imagine anyone
     imbibing and driving their MR2's.

We are still going to try to take pictures of all of the cars and give
everyone pictures to take home with them as well as a group photo.
Scott McBurney has offered to design a scenic ride for us.

This is a perfect time to meet some of the great people you've
exchanged messages with. People are coming from all over Illinois as
well as Iowa, Ohio, New York, Missouri and Michigan. If you know
someone who has a 2 and would like to come, please invite them. If
anyone wants to be added to my direct mail update list for the picnic,
     e-mail me at pradega@ccmail.ceco.com.

For those coming from out of town, I can get information on hotel rooms
if you desire, just let me know. If enough people are interested in
getting rooms, I know I can get a group rate at the local holiday inn
which used to be a hilton, my father knows the head of security there
and he has said they would keep an extra close eye on the cars. My
guess is that we could get them for $60.00/night with a group rate. One
last thing, kids are welcome so if you've got kids and the SO doesn't
want to come bring one of them instead.

Finally, if you know you can come, R.S.V.P. after I get you the final
date but if you haven't RSVP'd and you get a wild hair, please come at
     the last minute.

With any luck we might all be sporting our new license plate frames by
     then! All comments are appreciated!

     George
